On Jalopnik, I’ve been in an endless cycle of entering my info and being sent right back to the login page. Not a huge deal, I don’t want to talk to them anyway :)

Buuuuuttttt now it’s happening on Oppo too. I can only log in on Chrome. Is it a browser issue or a settings issue or kinja being kinja or...?

Thanks!

Ive had these issue started intermittently with any browser besides Chrome.  Worst is Safari on iPhone.  It might be ad blockers.  You could try clearing cookies as well.

Likely a browser issue.  Clear your cookies, restart the browser, try again.

Yep, cookies and cache.

Oh no; I’ve had problems with the home page. I’ve heard it said on other threads that it’s cookie related.

On Jalopnik, I’ve been in an endless cycle of entering my info and being sent right back to the login page

This is usally an issue with the browser blocking third-party cookies (the login cookie is from kinja.com but is being accessed from jalopnik.com. Oppo is a kinja.com domain, so there’s no problem).

Not being able to log in from other browsers is a new one for me. I’m currently logged in on both Chrome and Edge, but I haven’t had to enter my credentials since the first time, so maybe some recent change broke things.

All the kinja world keeps me logged in all the time, unlike a lot of other sites which offer to “keep me logged in” but in fact don’t.

It hasn’t let me post to Jalopnik for a couple weeks now, Oppo and other forums no problem.

Unfortunately I can’t offer much more than a virtual shrug of the shoulders for both your problem and mine.

I can’t log in to Jellopicnic and I haven’t been able to for months, but somehow I commented on something the other day. It was nice to see that I’m still in the greys. I gave up on trying to get out long ago. It amazes me the number of mouth breathers there are commenting ignorance over there, but I can’t get un-grayed.

I had something similar a few months back and it was tied to a change to cookies that I’d implemented around the same time.  Setting it back to default solved the problem.

I had a weird login issue last night that I think was a Kinja issue. I opened up Oppo on my phone, and I wasn’t logged in. “Weird,” I think to myself.

I don’t have my Oppo password saved on my phone, so I figured I’d deal with it in the morning, and went to sleep.  When I woke up this morning and opened up Oppo again, I was logged in. I didn’t do anything at all.

Not having issues staying logged in over here, but I am having an issue starring posts and comments on mobile. While on my phone I can only star posts and comments from Kinja communities and not the FPs...but I guess that’s not much of a loss lol

I’ve had intermittent problems with this as well. I now call Chrome my “Kinja Browser”. Ironically, I’m typing this on my iPhone’s Safari browser right now that usually doesn’t connect to Kinja.

So, in summary:  ¯\_()_/¯

This happens to me all the time on mobile. I can only log in via desktop. :(
